Review: Violet Ripple Butt Plug

by on Dec.18, 2011, under NSFW, Reviews

The last sex toy I received for review from EdenFantasys, the White Heat Double Delights Vibrator, was a bit of a dud for me, so I was very happy when I received the Violet Ripple Butt Plug from them this time. I’ve wanted to try out a glass butt plug for a while now, and the Violet Ripple seemed like the perfect one to start with.

As you can see, it’s beautiful – the smooth lines, the gentle curves… of course, it being purple (my favorite color) doesn’t hurt, either – but this anal toy is completely functional, too. Made of Pyrex glass, this plug is hypo-allergenic, completely non-porous, completely latex and phthalate-free, and extremely easy to clean.

I think the above picture, which is featured on EdenFantasys’ site, doesn’t give one a good idea of this plug’s size. It is 3 3/4″ in insertable length and 1 1/2″ in diameter at the widest point. Although it is tapered quite nicely, the insertion of the rigid 1 1/2″ was a stretch (pun maybe intended?) for me, so I wouldn’t recommend this for beginners, but it is a great size for people who already have some butt plug experience.

The best thing about this plug for me was that even though the diameter took a bit to get used to, the dramatic flare from that diameter to the neck (which is only 3/4″), plus the rigidity of the plug, kept the plug in place at all times – even during my explosive orgasms. With all the other plugs I’ve tried, they have slipped (or in some cases, even SHOT) out at one point or another, but the Violet Ripple stayed firm and strong.

Another nice thing about the plug is the base, which is large enough to keep the plug from slipping inside, but small enough that you don’t feel like you’re trying to smuggle a football between your cheeks (though some people may like that kind of thing). It also makes it comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time, while sitting or while up & walking around.

The Violet Ripple comes in it’s own velvet-esque bag (pictured above), though strangely, nothing else, other than some bubble wrap. I was very surprised when I opened my package from EF & found no plastic packaging, just the bag with the bubble wrapped plug inside. I don’t know if it’s a good thing (yay, a more green way of packaging!) or a bad thing (boo, it could have been more easily damaged!), but take it how you will.

Despite the surprising lack of packaging, I love this plug, I would highly recommend it to anyone over the beginner level, and I’m happy to give it 5 out of 5 Happy Bamboos! :)

Disclaimer:I have a material connection and receive products, as in-kind payments, from EdenFantasys for review, but my reviews are completely honest and without bias.
